About me
My name is Rik Oostenbroek. I am a Dutch visual artist and creative director.
I started making work more than sixteen years ago without a formal background. What kept me going was curiosity and a need to understand how images work. Over time, that curiosity turned into a practice shaped by trial, repetition and a lot of self-teaching.
My work moves between digital and physical forms. I am drawn to abstraction, color, movement and the tension between control and unpredictability. Some projects are made for clients, others exist purely to explore ideas or materials. I value both, and I have learned different things from each.
I have worked internationally with studios, agencies and brands, while continuing to develop personal work through exhibitions and independent projects. Switching between these worlds has helped me stay critical of my own work and avoid settling into a fixed style.
I am not interested in shortcuts or trends. New tools and technologies are part of the process, but they only matter if they serve a decision or an idea. For me, the work is about staying honest, staying curious and continuing to grow both as a human but also as a creative that will always vouch for the digital art field.

Feel free to explore both the art as the studio section of my portfolio, to get a grasp of what I am about and what we can potentially do together, since I'm never not looking for interesting collaborations and partnerships.
