About Rik
Rik has been working for over twenty years without a formal background, driven by curiosity and a desire to understand how images work and why they feel the way they do. What began as experimentation and self-teaching gradually evolved into a personal visual language shaped by trial, intuition, and persistence.
His work moves fluidly between digital and physical forms, often exploring abstraction, color, movement, and the tension between control and unpredictability. Commissioned projects and personal work exist side by side in his practice, constantly influencing and challenging one another.
Alongside autonomous projects and exhibitions, Rik collaborates internationally with studios, agencies, and brands. He has also spoken at numerous conferences around the world. Moving between these different contexts helps him stay critical, curious, and resistant to settling into a fixed style.
Rather than chasing trends or relying on shortcuts, Rik approaches tools and technologies as means, not goals, using them only when they genuinely serve an idea. At its core, his practice is guided by curiosity, honesty, and a commitment to continuous growth across both digital and traditional art.
